ISEF Egypt was launched in Cairo in March 2010 under the patronage of Egypt's former Minister of Education, establishing Egypt's official connection to the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)—the world's largest and most prestigious pre-college science competition.
Administered by the Arab Science and Technology Foundation from its Cairo office, ISEF Egypt serves as the regional affiliate that identifies and nurtures exceptional young scientists and engineers from across Egypt. The program targets students aged 14-18 years (grades 9-12) from all schools—public, private, and international—providing them with opportunities to showcase their innovations, compete for substantial prizes and scholarships, and advance to the international ISEF competition.

Students from schools across Egypt present their research projects at local exhibitions held in various Egyptian governorates including Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, and others. These exhibitions serve as the entry point to the competition, where judges evaluate projects across 17 scientific categories and select the most promising innovations to advance to the regional finals.

Regional Finals
Winners from local exhibitions advance to the ISEF Egypt regional finals, where they compete against the best student researchers from across the country. Who Can Participate
- Age Range: Students aged 14-18 years (grades 9-12)
- School Type: Students from all schools including public schools, private schools, international schools, and specialized STEM schools
- Nationality: Egyptian students or students studying in Egypt

Project Requirements
All ISEF Egypt submissions must meet rigorous standards consistent with international ISEF guidelines:
- Original Research: Projects must be based on original research conducted by the student(s), demonstrating scientific inquiry and independent investigation
- Scientific Method: Clear hypothesis, experimental design, data collection and analysis, conclusions based on evidence
- Adherence to Safety Rules: Compliance with ISEF safety regulations regarding human subjects, vertebrate animals, hazardous materials, and biosafety
- Proper Documentation: Research notebook, project report, display board following ISEF standards
