Dr Aysha Mubarak is currently a member of Bahrain Shura Council appointed by his majesty the King on 2006.
In the Shura Council , Aysha's priorities included increasing access to the latest information communication technology ICT, improving the lives of women and protecting the environment, she drafted the protection from radiological and nuclear contamination materials law which aims to protect the Bahraini environment from these harmful materials.
Prior to her current position she held several positions in the Ministry Of Education, Dr Mubarak was the Director of the Department of Planning and projects in the Ministry of Education a key architect of the strategic planning process Aysha served for three years as the deputy Chief in King Hamad e-learning project.
Dr Aysha obtained her PhD from Loughborough University in information systems and a Master Degree from Manchester University. Currently she is serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and training (QAAET) and a member of the international Co-ordinating Committee of Women Parliamentarians in the Inter-Parliamentary Union IPU. Aysha is a recipient of several prestigious awards and fellowships most recently the Eisenhower fellowship 2009.
