Linda Jean Shepherd received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Pennsylvania State University, and is the author of Lifting the Veil: The Feminine Face of Science. She worked in the biotechnology business developing diagnostic products using enzymatic and monoclonal antibody technologies, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California. She lives near Seattle, Washington, USA.
