Scientific team from Saudi Taibahu University extracts well water by solar energy

Researching team from physics department in Taibahu University, in Madinah “Al-menawara”, KSA work on study about the efficiency of photo optical system to pump well water by using the solar energy, the project was funded by scientific research deanship in Taibahu University. Dr. Adnan Bin Abdalla Al-Mazrou, university manager- noted that the funding presented by the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdalla Bin Abd Al-Aziz in funding and supporting the Scientific research, with what goes with Saudi’s policies to export the industries in many different sectors. He also mention that Dr. Khalid Bin Mohamed Al- Anqari monitoring through the support of scientific research minister, as the university won by many of researching projects in additional to some researches supported by the university through deanship of scientific research.

Dr. Mohamed Bin Ghanim –Chief researcher in the team & physics professor in Taibahu university- said that the research title is “study and completion ideal and integrated photo optical system by using solar chips to extract well water in Madinah “Al-Monawara”, the importance of the research summarized in completion of photo optical system in Madinah, by giving volume for the solar cells (no. of solar chips) and the ways to connect it so we can reach the ideal usage way for the solar energy, the project aims to generate electricity through the solar energy to feed the water pumps to extract well water in order to irrigate the remote farms in Madinah. About the benefits from the research, Dr. Ghanim confirmed that the primary benefits from the research in this field will be on Master & PHD level, also the field that will benefit a lot from this research is “community development”. Dr. Bin Ghanim referred that they installed the system to extract water from some farms located in “Al-bahra – Al-mandasah center- Tabok road” that located 25 Kilometers away from Madinah. The researching team concluded from the research some results that will publish in specialized scientific magazine, referring to the primary expectations for the research that indicate the extract of 22 cubic meter of water from the sun rising to sunset, for pump its ability is 900 Watt through the solar energy.
