The general secretary of Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States, Dr. Abd Al-latif Bin Rashed Al-Zayani confirmed on the interest of the council countries to support scientific and technological projects and encourage creativity and innovation, to improve the term of knowledge economic that depend on knowledge and scientific research, and investment the intellectual property, which include patents in the usages of sustainable development. This statement came during his visit to attend the activities of the first specialized training program in the field of Substantive examination of patent, that held in the headquarters of the general Secretariat for the cooperation council from 9th – 13th June 2012. It was organized by the intellectual property training center in the secretariat with cooperation with Global intellectual property academy (GIPA), patents and trademarks office that related to USA government.

He clarified that this program is come as a result of fruitful cooperation between USA government represented in trademarks and patents office and Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States in the field of empowerment and development the scientific research.
