| ASTF participated in “Science and Technology Parks and knowledge economy” conference in Egypt |

Under the patronage of Dr. Nadia Zachary, the Egyptian minister for the scientific research, and Dr. Maged El-Sherbieny, the president of scientific research and technology academy, a conference about field of science and technology parks and the knowledge economy in Egypt was organized in Cairo by the scientific research and technology academy. About 20 universities, foundations and companies include the Arab science and technology foundation (ASTF) participated in the conference, Mr. Abdo Felli, the researcher and the communication and media senior officer of ASTF and Eng. Ebrahim El Hamalawy, the coordinator of Arab Technology business plan competition in Cairo office, represented ASTF in conference. A lot of organizations participated in the conference, included: Egyptian businessmen association, world bank, Information and Decision Support Center of Egyptian ministers’ cabinet, Cairo university, Helwan university, Ain shams university, American university in Cairo, and information and communication industry development fund, in additional to many civil society institutions and companies, many embassies like: German embassy and the Chinese embassy in Cairo. Also Turkish and American experience were discussed in the conference. Delegation from Zambia showed their experience, needs and cooperation with Egypt in the field of science and technology. The conference started in 16th January and ended in 18th January 2012. In the last day, scientific tours were organized for some of science and technology Egyptian vallies in Maadi, Ismailia, and Suez.
